The pen cartridge comprises an ink reservoir (18), to whose outlet a tube (20) is connected, while a nib (22) is a leakproof fit in the lower tube end. A capillary ink feed system in the tube supplied the nib, extending upwards from the latter to the reservoir outlet. There is a ventilation port in the side of the tube near the nib, and from this port (36) a connecting passage (50) to the side of the feed system runs to the reservoir.
