<p>Particulate material is removed from fluid streams by an endless foraminous belt supporting elongate fluid-permeable bags contg. ion exchange media. In a prefd. arrangement, the bags contg. ion exchange media are suspended from an endless belt made of interwoven yarn arrays. The bags are made from e.g. nylon with hole openings of dia. 0.00254-0.19 cm and are closed by e.g. sliding clasp fasteners. Solids are removed from the bags by a high press. liq. spray. Subsequently the belt is subjected to an ion re-charger to re-establish the ionized bias thereof.</p> |
