PURPOSE:To produce the semi-hard composite magnetic alloy having composite magnetic characteristics useful for switches, etc. by making use of spinodal reaction and strain-induced transformation of the Fe-Cr-Co-base alloy of the specific composition and controlling these reactions through the specified heat treatment and working. CONSTITUTION:The Fe-Cr-Co alloy composed of Cr; 10-40wt%, Co; 10-30wt% and the rest of Fe is melted and is cast in the atmosphere. The casting is subjected to solution treatment at temperatures of about 700-1,300 deg.C at which alpha phase and gamma phase coexist. Next, straightly after this, or after cold working, it is subjected to aging treatment for the purpose of spinodal decomposition, thence it is subjected to cold working at a reduction ratio of 20% or more to enhance the strain-induced transformation from gamma phase to alpha' phase and the anisotropy of alpha phase or alpha1 phase and alpha' phase. Finally, it undergoes finish aging treatment for several hours at temperatures of about 400-700 deg.C. This yields the Fe-Cr-Co-base semi-hard composite magnetic alloy having composite magnetic characteristics useful for switches and relays. |
