A mAterial mass throughput measuring method is applicable to fluid flows and involves measurement of a pressure drop between two points using a subsidiary material flow. The relationship between the throughput and pressure drop is independent of the flow structure, exhibits a mass characteristic, and is linear over a wide range of variations. The pressure drop in the flow being measured is determined between points both sides of the point at which the measurement flow is intersected by an auxiliary flow of speed, v, in a channel of cross-sectional dimensions, h&b. The main flow cross-sectional dimensions and speed are H, B and V, where V corresponds to max. throughput. The relationship between these variables defining the auxiliary flow is v > H/h b >= B.
|
