The membrane is installed in a flower pot and is used for continuously watering flowers in the pot with simultaneous cleaning of the water. The membrane has an elastic edge reinforcement (3) engaging the side of the pot (4). The edge reinforcements are joined together in a slit pocket design to facilitate replacement of the membrane (2). The membrane consists of a sealing cushion with a slit opening into which a membrane can be inserted and which has a water hole. The flower pot is of normal shape with a flat bottom and sloping sides.
