The paint or other fluid being fed to a spray gun or similar devices has a variable viscosity; and a network of pumps and valves is used to achieve constant flow. A double acting work cylinder (1) is driven by compressed air to actuate two volumetric pumps (2, 3) yoked together. One pump (2) draws paint out of a reservoir and delivers it to a spray gun via a valve operated by another valve (6). The other pump (3) is connected in a circuit contg. a fluid of constant viscosity, e.g. water, which is driven by the pump through a pressure reducing valve and another valve (9) to a flowmeter, which is followed by a calibrated nozzle and a reservoir supplying the pump (3). Once the flow of water in its circuit has been adjusted, constant paint flow is ensured.
|
