<p>A cutter pick holder for the drums of shearer loaders, used for mechanised coalgetting in collieries, consits of a base part and a wearing part. The former is welded into recesses of the dum and the latter has a recess for the cutter pick shank. Both are joined together by a recess of rectangular section, with two parallel sides and two concave sides, all four with a non-binding taper. A circlip holds the assembly togehter. Their joint is made easily detachable by a thimble, made of copper, nylon or rubber which fits along the side walls. This helps to increase the wear resistance of a cutter pick holder which need not be changed as often.</p> |
