The arrangement for extracting separated-out solids is esp for a large scale travelling-grate iron ore sintering plant with induced-draught hot gas flow down through the grate (8). Via multiple intake boxes (11) and tubes (12) this passes into a manifold space (13) with solids-collecting boxes along the underside. These boxes (1) are funnel-shaped and terminate in a pipe (6) running down into a gastight collecting chamber (3). Underneath the pipe outlet-ends there is a conveyor belt (4) which takes the material to a gastight discharging device (5) under one end. Each pipe pref. embodies a shutoff device.
