Sieve base with easily replaceable sieve parts - having sheet metal carrier as support part, useful for existing sieving machines

The support body of the sieve is a sheet metal carrier and has recesses defined by webs where the sieve elements can be snap fitted into these recesses, pref. off-set relative to each other without the need for any special intermediate detent fittings. The support, which is not a rigid self-supporting structure, has only a slight thickness compared to the thickness of the sieve elements and is more or less flexible. The base can thus be used both as a transverse or longitudinally braced sieve or as a flat cover. This and the light weight allows the sieve base to be used even in sieve machines originally designed for the conventional one-piece mesh sieves. The flexible sheet metal carrier is additionally stabilised by the inserted sieve elements. The sheet metal carrier can be fixed in position by suitable fastening bores or the like.
