PURPOSE:To produce the clad steel plate of considerably improve adhesiveness by fusion-bonding clad metal onto a slab through the utilization of the reaction heat by intensive thermit reaction by the use of a thermit mixture then hot rolling the same. CONSTITUTION:A slab 1 is enclosed by a heat insulation board 2 to form the containing part 3 whose bottom is the top face of the slab 1. Thence, the powder 4 mixed with Al powder and iron oxide powder as well as the metal powder of the specified components forming clad is put on the slab 1 of the containing part 3 and further the separately put-in igniting agent 5 is ignited to let thermit reaction take place. The powder 4 is melted by the high heat evolved by the thermit reaction and the top surface layer of the slab 1 is also partly melted, whereby the clad metal 6 composed of the alloy based on the components of the powder 4 is fusion-bonded onto the slab 1. Next, the slab 1 having been fusion-bonded with this metal 6 is rolled by ordinary hot rolling equipment, whereby the specified clad steel plate is produced. |
