Automatic guidance system for trackless vehicle - has inductively coupled coils sending induced voltages to bridge circuit, and has control coil keeping vehicle moving straight ahead
摘要

An automatic path guidance control for a trackless vehicle uses an inductive loop inset into the ground surface. The system includes a facility for a change in direction at a branch point. Onboard the vehicle are two inductively coupled coils; one horizontal to the surface and one vertical. The coils react to the loop and the induced voltages are fed to a bridge circuit. A control coil (2) is located at a branch point with the winding (2a) parallel to the main guidance cable (2b). As the vehicle approaches the junction the magnetic field is such that the straight ahead direction is held. After passing around the change of direction loop the vehicle passes to the junction and the vehicle may go straight ahead or it may turn.
