Miniature monostable relay - has excitation coil on bar-shaped rocker armature between two U=shaped yokes

The relay has a bar shaped rocker armature (1) with an excitation coil (5) wound around it. The ends of the armature lie between the opposing pole faces of two U-shaped yokes. The first yoke (6,8) consists of two L-shaped pole shoes (6, 7) with a permanent magnet (8) sandwiched between them. The ends of the short arms of the L-shaped parts form the two pole faces of the yoke. The second yoke has a similar structure to the first yoke but is made entirely of soft iron. In one of the two end states of the relay the magnetic circuit is closed via the armature via the permanent magnet whilst in the other end state it is closed via the path comprising solely the soft iron.
