<p>An aeration apparatus comprises a hollow shaft 1 connected to an impeller in the form of a hub 2 with blade-tubes 3 radially extending therefrom, the blade-tubes 3 having slits 4 for the outflow of air sucked in by the impeller. The blade-tubes 3 have mounted thereon, on the side facing the shaft 1, a flat ring 5 defining with the hub 2 an annular slit 6. Intermediate each adjacent pair of the tubes 3, on the side of the ring 5 facing the tubes 3, there is mounted a rib 7 extending tangentially with respect of the inner edge of the ring, the rib 7 having its peripheral end at the area where the liquid breaks away from the external end of the tube 3 which is the closest to the rib 7 in the direction of rotation of the impeller, at a spacing therefrom substantially equal to one fifth of the arc confined between the axes of the two adjacent blade-tubes 3 along the outer edge of the ring 5.
