PURPOSE:To simply and firmly adhere a screw rod into a knob by a method wherein a heated knurled portion of the screw rod is pushed into fitting hole, provided in a knob proper, with a diameter being a bit smaller than an outer diameter of the knurled portion, and is secured thereat. CONSTITUTION:A knob proper 1, a screw rod 3, and a washer 7 are previously prepared. A knurled portion 6 of the screw rod 3 is heated to a temperature being higher than a melting point of plastic resins of the knob proper 1. The washer 7 is positioned in a place, and the knurled porton 6 is then pushed into a fitting hole 2. This causes plastic resin at the surrounding of the fitting hole 2 to be molten, whereby the molten resin is stuck to the knurling. The washer 7 is positioned between the nip formed by the knob proper 1 and a flange 4. Where the knurled portion 6, which is heated to an sufficiently high temperature, is pushed into the fitting hole 2, the plastic resin is molten and flown into the spline grooves of the knurling and the highs of the knurling also bite into the plastic resin. Besides, seizure so produced connects firmly together the metal made knurled portion 6 and the plastic resin. Thus, the portion so connected can be protected from being disassembled even if a strong torsion force is applied thereon. |
