<p>The covered-belt (5) conveyor comprises a weighted cover belt (6) in flexible material and is esp. intended for upward transport of material (4). The inner and outer layers (8, 9) of the belt are weighted by incorporating a high-density material (10) e.g. lead. The high-density material loading is pref. at least applied in the central region (11) between the edge areas (12, 13) of the belt (6). The belt may be in a soft flexible material. The belts (5, 6) may have the same approximate width whilst their edge contact areas (12, 13) occupy at least one tenth, pref. no less than one seventh to one quarter, of the total belt width.</p> |
