In order to produce a torsionally rigid joint between a shaft (1) and a bar part (4) of polygonal cross-section, a tool whose cross-section corresponds to the bar part (4) is pushed into an axial blind hole (2) made in the shaft (1), so that longitudinal grooves are cut in the wall of the blind hole (2), in which longitudinal grooves the edges of the bar part (4) engage in a frictional and positive-locking manner. The joint is used in particular for shaft/torsion-bar joints.
