PURPOSE:To prevent the failure of photographing owing to an error in lens selection by providing a lens focal length detecting means to the camera. CONSTITUTION:A detection lever 6 which has protrusions 6b, 6c, and whose front face 6a is engageable with the focal length distance signal pin 23 protruding from the stationary barrel rear end 22 of an interchangeable lens 20 is mounted to the camera body slidably parallel to the optical axis of the photographing lens. Then, when the interchangeable lens 20 is mounted to the camera, the detecting lever 6 moves by being pushed by the focal length signal pin 23 and if the interchangeable lens 20 is a standard lens, the intermediate part of the protrusions 6b, 6c position below the engaging piece 5, causing the engaging piece 5 to descend. The detention of a light emitting device 1 by a detention lever 3 is then released and the strobe light emission becomes possible. On the other hand, when the interchangeable lens 20 is a wide-angle lens, the protrusion 6c positions below the engaging piece 5 to inhibit the descending of the engaging piece 5. The light emitting device 1 is then not released and the changing-over to the flash photographing state is prevented. |
