A tank having a turret which is rotatably arranged in relation to the tank chassis and supports a large-calibre firearm, the turret having comparatively small external dimensions, particularly vertically, the turret being well countersunk in the tank hull so that its upper parts project only slightly above the other parts of the top of the tank; the turret being connected to a fastening member which extends downwards in the tank and serves as a support for a crew station; and the fastening member having a limited width.
