PURPOSE:To promote a tendency of the high efficiency of the lamp, by coating an electron emitting material in which a yttria is added to a tungsten acid salt of the alkaline earth metal and at least one of the beryllia and lanthania is included, onto the electrode. CONSTITUTION:At both ends of a luminous tube 1, is sealed a cap 6 having an electrode 3. Into the interior of the luminous tube 1, are sealed a buffer gas metal like mercury, sodium and xenon. An electron emitting material, in which a yttria is added to a tungsten acid salt of the alkaline earth metal including at least a barium and at least one of the beryllia and the lanthania is included, is coated onto the electrode 3. The weight of the electrode 3 is made to be 0.70-1.05g including the core wire. |
