PURPOSE:To prepare a nutrious and agreeable drink from ''reishi'' (a basidiomycete belonging to Polyporaceae family), by mixing the extract of ''reishi'' with extract of crude drugs such as cassia bark, dried orange peel, clove powder, etc. CONSTITUTION:''Reishi'' drink is prepared by mixing extract of ''reishi'' and extract of one or more crude drugs such as cassia bark, dried orange peel, clove powder, untmeg, beefsteak plant, Cnidii Rhizoma, etc. or by extracting the mixture of ''reishi'' and the crude drugs. ''Reishi'' is a bracket fungus of the genus Fomes, and has carcinostatic activity as well as peptic, tonicizing, antiphlogistic, and diuretic activities. The disagreeable bitter taste of ''reishi'' can be reduced by this process. |
