<p>PURPOSE:To perform clarification treatment of polluted water with high efficiency by peeling off biological membrane adhered without discontinuing operation by using an operation involving the stretching and contraction of filler and the regulation of circulating flow rate of polluted water. CONSTITUTION:During the continuation of polluted water treatment operation, the biological membrane adhered to the filler layer 3 is gradually grown. Then, at a time when the lowering of the clarification efficiency is not yet pronounced, the guide roller 7 is moved along the rail 8 and at this time the filler layer 3a is contracted and also the filler layer 3b is stretched, whereby the sectional area of polluted water circulation path formed in the filler layer 3a is made smaller, and also because the air supply pipe 6 or the flexible pipe through which aerated polluted water is supplied is moved according to the moving amount of the guide roller 7, the circulating flow rate of polluted water passing through the filler layer 3a is made greater. Thus, the increment due to overgrowth of the biological membrane adhered to the filler layer 3b can be peeled off. On the other hand, in the filler layer 3b, biological membrane becomes able to grow. Thus, the growth and removal of biological membrane can be attained concurrently and with high efficiency by alternately moving the said guide roller 7 at a regular interval of time.</p> |
