The surfboard is of divided construction and may have sails. It has a hull in mirror-image halves joined along the centre plane. The mating faces house threaded bushes for clamping bolts which either hold the halves together or, with the faces turned up, secure a rigid buoyant connecting-deck structure turning the board into a catamaran. The structure has transverse spars used as strength- and securing-members and a central mast and dagger-board housings like the hull. The bushes, and bolts, may extend right through the hull halves. The mating faces may embody dowel pins and sockets.
|
