A cylindrical treatment chamber (21) is closed off with a dome-like vent cowl (22). Various lines for the feed and discharge and also for the circulation of compressed air, demineralised water, detergents, silicone oil, steam, washing liquid etc. open into the chamber and in the cowl. In the chamber (21), an air distributor (25) consisting of two parallel mesh screens (25a, 25b) is arranged close to the base, which air distributor (25) generates a pulsating fluidised bed. The mesh sizes of the screens are approximately 20 mu m, they are approximately 3 cm apart. The pulsating fluidised bed produces an extremely intensive cleaning effect. <IMAGE>
