PURPOSE:To obtain a filter having high sterilizing power and used to sterilize a large amt. of air by plating a lightweight porous metal body having high porosity and a three-dimensional structure with silver. CONSTITUTION:A lightweight porous metal body made of Ni, a Ni-Cr alloy, etc., and having high porosity and random paths is used as a carrier 1 and plated with silver by vapor deposition, chemical plating or other method to obtain a filter 3 for sterilizing air used for dentistry, otolaryngology, etc. When the filter 3 is set in a duct, air is passed through many pores 2 in the filter 3 and exhausted while in contact with silver. The filter 3 has a significant sterilizing effect and is used to sterilize air at a high flow rate. |
