<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a higher exciting voltage than in a thyristor direct excitation system and heightening the degree of safety of power lines, by providing a forced excitation control circuit and automatically operating a secondary initial excitation switch by the output of the control circuit. CONSTITUTION:An exciting current is supplied from a battery 5 by closing a primary excitation switch 3 at the time of starting. Then, the signal of a field voltage control signal generation circuit 15 in an AVR 10 and the output of a setting unit 16 in a forced excitation control circuit 14 are compared with each other by a comparator 17. When forced excitation is needed, a closing instruction circuit 18 is operated to close a switch 7 to use a voltage produced by an electricity generator itself through an exciting transformer 8, for excitation. Secondary initial excitation is thus effected. According to this constitution, a higher exciting voltage than in a thyristor direct excitation system can be automatically applied and the degree of safety of power lines in a transient state is heightened.</p> |
