The partially submerged electric generator includes two concentric cylinders with two pistons fastened together and moving on a common vertical axis. The upper piston (4) is subject to wave pressure from above and atmospheric pressure from below. A counterbalance weight (8) compensates the weight of the pistons. The lower piston moves in a cylinder with two valves, so that it generates a flow of water in the pipe (21) leaving the outlet valve. This water is raised to a reservoir (22) held above the main structure. From the reservoir the water flows through a pipe (23) into a turbine (24) to generate electricity. The whole assembly stands on the sea bed, with jacks enabling the pistons and cylinders to be raised or lowered.
|
