<p>The evaporator is for a refrigeration system such as a compressor-driven refrigerator, which has an evaporator section which is stamped out of flat plates and then bent into a box shape to form a cooler compartment which is freely accessible from the front. The evaporator or section has two side walls and top and bottom wall. The sheet consists of two connected sheets with intermediate meandering refrigerant channels impressed into the sheet, extending in a peripheral region of the box-shaped evaporator section. The box-shaped evaporator section (2) has one or more pick-up lugs (8) which project backwards with respect to the rest of the smooth rear edge (7) and have internally extending refrigerant channels and refrigeration connections at the end of the refrigerant channels. Each pick-up lug (8) is integral with the adjacent wall(2a, b, c, d) of the box-shaped evaporator section.</p> |
