The mill includes a reciprocating roll stand contg. >=1 pair of rolls for rolling >=1 tube blank located on a mandrel. Two reciprocating clamps (I), (II) which always move in opposite directions, drive the blanks stepwise towards the rolls, and also rotate the blanks. On the exit side of the mill is another clamp (III) which rotates the finished tube without hindering its longitudinal travel. Between clamp (II) and the roll stand is another clamp (IV) which is reciprocated independently from clamps (I), (II) and holds the tube blanks while the directions of travel of clamps (I), (II) are being reversed. Accidental, premature entry of the blanks into the rolls, which would damage the blanks, is prevented.
