Film positioning control for splicer - has sprung locator to align film prior to clamping

A position control for the film in a splicer has a spung plate (4) to locate a stub (8) loosely in a sprocket hole and and hold the film. The locating plate (3) of the clamp is then pressed down to locate in the adjacent sprocket holes and secure the film for the cutter (15). The system allows preallignment of the film without straining the film and with no danger of displacing the alignment. The pressure clamp presses down on the sprung lacator and displaces it without loosing contact with the sprocket hole.
