PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of housing by providing a nozzle for cooling water, directed toward the inside of cover, to cool exactly the outside surface of water pump. CONSTITUTION:Water is sucked up through the water suction path 26 and the intake 25 by the rotation of the impeller 24 and then discharged as cooling water from the discharge port 27. Most of the cooling water serves to cool engine, part of the water is sent by pressure into the water seal 34 through the path 33, and the other part of the water is sent by pressure to the nozzle 35 through the paths 33 and 36, from which the cooling water is jetted into the inside of the cover 40. Although high-temperature exhaust gas passes through the exhaust path 4 during the operation of engine, the outside surface of housing and the cover 40 can be sufficiently cooled because the cooling water is jetted into the inside of the cover 40. Thus, the deterioration of synthetic resin housing due to heat can be prevented. |
