The stabiliser fits under a twin compartment inflatable dinghy and is suspended below the centre of the vessel by a strap from the sides. The stabiliser has a horizontal bracket carrying a horizontal spindle (1) in between end bearings. The spindle carries two square plates at right angles to each other and normally resting at 45 deg. to the horizontal. The spindle is free to turn and side thrust on one plate forces it into the vertical position.
