The film cutter has a lower pointed profile edge (3) on which the film is laid in a folded setting, and two upper cutting edges (1) which trim off the film on each side of the edge. The cutting edges are pressed down by pressure flanges (2) and cut the film with sloping edges. These prevent shadows and fringe effects at the edges on subsequent photo printing. The cutters are roller discs mounted under pressure plates and rolled along the profiled edge. The discs self locate each side of the edge and pull into the edge of the film.
