The device has circular discs in the ends of the corrugating cylinder and fixed in an axial direction but free to rotate about the axis. The discs have axial projections lying opposite the stops on the extension sleeve and on the core pin bearing. The axial projections are formed by stop cams of different lengths distributed around the peripheries of the circular discs. Two stop cam groups with lengths differing from cam to cam extend over a peripheral distance of 180 deg. on each disc. Cams on the same length in each group are diametrically opposite one another w.r.t. the axis of rotation of the discs.
