PURPOSE:To prevent generation of wrinkle and flaw in the form of pitching at a plough folding part by, furnishing a cylinder, whose peripheral surface is put closely alongside the fold line of a web, in the neighborhood of the end top of a plough unit. CONSTITUTION:A web 2 is paid off by a drive roller 12a of an inlet side guide roller 14 and put closely alongside a fixed roller 17 and a tension roller 19 in S form, to be given a tension, and then is put closely alongside a plough unit 20 to then go toward an outlet side guide roller 16. At this time, the web 2 protruding at the end of the plough unit 20 is pressed to the end face of the plough unit 20 and folded. the folded web 2 is passed to a former 31 under guidance of drag rollers 29, 30 and folded into halves in the width direction. As in this plough folding, the neighborhood of the fold line of the web 2 is held by a guide roll 33 rotating, the running path of the web 2 is maintained constant within the elasticity range of the web 2, and no wrinkle or flaw will be generated in the neighborhood of the fold line. |
