PURPOSE:To keep active material deposited tight on a mat and improve capacity and life expectancy of a lead storage battery, by setting a device which can from active material filled in a plate and then remove the material adhering to synthetic resin ribs of the plate's substrate after forming. CONSTITUTION:While a plate 2, filled with active material, passes through a clearance between rollers 1, 1' having forming grooves 5 and molds 6 for making synthetic resin ribs on the face of endless belts 4 made of cotton cloth, the active material undergoes forming by the rollers 1 and then precision forming by the other rollers 1'. The plate 2 with the active material thus formed is transferred to sprayers 7 for water or acid dipping with dilute sulfuric acid and further to combs 9 for removing residual active material on the resin ribs. |
