This mast comprises two parts (10, 12) each extending from the body of the boat up to the top of the mast. The front part (10) comprises a groove (18) orientated backwardly and symmetric to the longitudinal center plane (14) of the boat. This part is fixed to the body of the boat by stays and guys. The rear part (12) of the mast is not taut, carries the sail and is supported by its upper torsion on the front part (10). According to one embodiment, a pocket formed by the sail surrounds the rear part (12) of the mast. According to another embodiment, the angular position about the axis of the rear part of the mast, to which is attached the sail with its roping (26), may be modified and adjusted as desired. |
