The crystal resonator is esp. for use in a watch. It consists of a quartz crystal with electrodes stuck to its flat surfaces, to form a capacitor structure with the crystal acting as the dielectric. The quartz crystal block is cut so that the two flat faces have a given orientation with respect to the mechanical, electrical and optical axes of the crystal. The crystal block (12) is cut into a rectangular shape, and the thickness, length and breadth of this shape may be in a given ratio. The broad flat surfaces may be a given distance apart. The plates (16, 17) of the capacitor are set at a slight distance from the faces (13, 14) of the block (12) and are connected by a picture frame shaped member (20). An elastomer block (25) connects the crystal block to one of the electrode plates.
|
