The coating machine has two containers each of whose lower part has an outlet to allow the paste to leave. The band passes this outlet and is coated with the paste. The outlet has a pivoted chute that allows a certain amt. of paste to leave the container depending on the size of the gap between the lip of the chute and the edge of the container's outlet. The two containers face one another and are independent of one another. The band passes between them. The coating chute of each container coats one side of the band. The edges of the outlets have fingers that apply the paste to both sides of the band.
