The bag, in particular a school-bag, has an outer skin (16) made of flexible material and a reinforcing insert (4). To protect the hems (118) of the outer skin (16), it is proposed to provide edge regions (109) which protrude from the main plane of the reinforcing insert and have protruding from them edge strips (111) for covering the hems (118).
