The painting implement consists of a brush head (1) fitted with a piston grip type handle (2). The handle is fitted with a recess into which a corresponding connecting element attached to the brush head can be inserted. The connecting element is formed in such a way that the brush head can be connected either vertically to the handle or at an incline to it. Alternatively, the connecting element can be adjustable so that it can be fixed to the handle at any required angle. A large variety of different brush heads may be fitted.
