NEW MATERIAL:A cyanoguanidine derivative of formula I [R is formula II (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl, or may form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring together with the N atom to which they are attached), or formula IV (R3 is lower alkyl group; m is 4 or 5); A is pyridyl group; X is alkylene which may have a terminal S], or its acid addition salt. EXAMPLE:N-Cyano-N'-(2'-dimethylamino)-ethyl-N-[ alpha-(2-pyridyl)benzyl ]-guanidine. USE:Drugs for peptic ulcer, local anesthetics, antiallergic agents, coronary vasodilators, or antiarrhythmic agents without side effects due to no anticholinergic action. PROCESS:An amine derivative of the formula R-NH2 is reacted with an iso(thio)urea derivative of formula III (Y is lower alkoxy or lower alkylthio group) to give the compound of formula I. |
