PURPOSE:To obatin the optical fiber connection sleeve which is easy to manufacture and permits low-loss connection by laminating plural sheets of the connection rings having optical fiber insertion holes of diameters larger than the outside diameter of the optical fibers to be connected and bonding and fixing the same. CONSTITUTION:Three connection rings 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 are inserted onto a prototype bar 4 having an outside diameter slightly larger than the outside diameter of the optical fibers to be connected and after the lamination, the outside side faces of the connecton rings are mutually fixed by using an adhesive agent 5. At this time, arrangement is so made that the insertion holes of the respective optical fibers 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 inscribe respectively at respective inscribing points 6, 7, 8 with respect to the prototype bar 4. Hence, the new optical fiber insertion hole constituted by the three connection rings inscribe the prototype bar 4. After the adhesive 5 has perfectly set, the prototype bar 4 is removed and this completes the optical fiber connection sleeve. In this way, the optical fiber connection sleeve which is easy to manufacture and permits low-loss connection may be obtained. |
