PRODUCTION OF NOVEL RAW FABRICS FOR HEAVYYDUTY BAGS

PURPOSE:A calcium carbonate powder is kneaded with a mixture of polyethylene and ethylene-propylene copolymer and they are molded using a specific screw to produce said raw fabrics for heavy-duty bags with increased mechanical strength and high stiffness and surface friction coefficient. CONSTITUTION:One hundred parts by wt of a resin mixture consisting of a high- density polyethylene of 0.2 or higher melt index and an ethylene-propylene copolymer at a ratio of 10:5-100:50 are kneaded with 40-150parts of a calcium carbonate powder containing 70-95% of particles with 0.5-10micron sizes and then inflation molded using a screw that has 5 or higher pitch number in the compression zone, 2.5-3.4 compression ratio, groove depth in the metering zone satisfying the equation: 16<=(D-h)/h<=23(D is the diameter of the cylinder) at a blow ratio of l.5-3.8. EFFECT:The resulting products permits the use of automatic bag supplier for craft paper bags and resists the collapse of palletized loads.
