Automatic stacker for loading moulded bricks onto kiln cars - where bricks stand on edge, and are prevented from falling over by guide rails

The bricks are moulded by hand or by machine, and are placed on frames or drying pallets from which they are to be transferred to, and stacked on, kiln cars. The transfer and stacking devices form cassettes which hold the bricks so the latter cannot tilt while they are being transferred to the kiln cars. The pref. plant consists of several conveyors, and a tilting device which tilts each brick through 90 degrees so the bricks stand on edge on an intermediate conveyor. This conveyor and the subsequent stacking appts. are fitted with side rails which align the rows of bricks and also prevent the bricks from falling over. The overall result is a reliable stacker which eliminates manual labour.
