Wire netting tree root basket - has central base opening enclosed by flat ring covering wire ends

The basket is of wire netting with pref. diamond-shaped welded mesh, and for use as a one-way packing for the root ball of a tree seedling. The netting wires are passed round a hem wire running along the outer edge, and theirs ends enclose a central opening in the base. The central opening (F) is enclosed by a ring of flat material (12, 14) covering the wire ends, and shaped so as to engage firmly with the surrounding netting. There can be two such rings, one of L-section and the other a flat washer riveted to it, enclosing the wire ends between them.
