Method for orderly depositing, storing and distributing plastic bags or similar flat objects, which are successively aligned in the ready-made condition on a conveying apparatus (16, 17, 18) transversely to the conveying direction and deposited so as to overlap one another, are fastened on a previously deposited bag (11) or a support strip in the region (8) of a projecting side wall (6) and then moved further in the conveying direction (G) by a certain selectable distance (A), so that a further bag (1) can be pushed on the last-deposited bag (11) in corresponding manner and fastened, and a type of storage belt (15) consists of imbricated bags which are individually fastened to one another.
