PURPOSE:To obtain simple bimetal operation by using different metals independently of one another. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask support structure 29 uses a lock member 32, which has an engagement hole 321 fitted on a panel pin embedded in the panel, and a low thermal expansion coefficient metal plate 31 and a high thermal expansion coefficient metal plate 30, these metal plates extending parallel and at least partly spaced apart and also serving as spring members. For the low thermal expansion coefficient metal member 31 may be used, for example, invar steel composed of about 64wt% iron and about 36wt% nickel, and for the high thermal expansion coefficient metal plate 30 may be used, for example, stainless steel containing about 13wt% chromium and 8wt% nickel. These metal plates 30, 31 are secured to a mask frame 7 and extend in the lingitudinal direction thereof, and a shadow mask 6 is supported by the mask frame 7. |
