PURPOSE:To bear the thrusting load on a clutch outer element and provide a bearing function for the rotation of the outer element and an inner-side tube by a combination of holes of the outer element, a groove of the tube, and steel balls. CONSTITUTION:An inner-side tube 3 is passed through a clutch outer element 2, and the both are coupled with eath other through clutch rollers 4. A cylindrical portion 2b of the element 2 is formed with plural holes 10 arranged along the circumference at the same axial portion. The tube 3 is formed with an annular groove 12 at a position in register with the holes 10, and steel balls 13 engaging the groove 12 are rollably fitted in the holes 10. Any movement of the element 2 in the thrust direction is restricted by the engagement between the groove 12 and the balls 13. The balls 13, together with an oil-less metal 14, function as a bearing for the element 2 as regards the tube 3. Therefore, the element 2 can be kept in a proper condition even under overrunning condition. |
