A pivotable bowed member is connected at the top end to the backrest and forms a footrest at the bottom end. Pref. the centre part of the bowed member connects to the seat which adjusts independently relative the two rests. The seat adjusts round axes which at the same time allow the seat and bow to move relative to one another. Pref. the seat is carried round an axis at the forward end of an arm projecting from the pedestal and connected at the rear to the bow to allow the seat and/or bow to move parallel. Axial adjustment of the seat is by a sub-mounted piston connected to the bow. Pref. a gas or hydraulic cylinder ratchet and pawl. The bow is in two separate but joined parts which can be adjusted to one another so that one part leads from the footrest up to the joint and the second sweeps back from here to the backrest.
