The duo tandem potentiometer suitable for AM and FM radio equipment or audio equipment, has two parallel restive paths (P1, P2) with a common slider (S) which is moved between them. Points of high and low potential are connected to the opposite ends of the two paths. A parallel resistance (Rp) is connected across one path (P2), at the output. This is used where two outputs of different values are obtained. When used for a logarithmic high fidelity loudspeaker system, a resistance (R1) and capacity (Ci) are incorporated in series with one of the paths (P2), giving a tone control device. The design can be used for circular paths, with a rotary slider, or linear paths with a linear slider. The device can be operated by a suitable cord drive.
